Once a year, year after year, folk all over the land celebrate Black History Month for 28...maybe 29...days. We're here to tell you that contributions by black folk, including the Buffalo Soldiers, were accomplished over a far longer time frame, and are still being accomplished. In fact, for a very brief reminder of what we 'bring to the table' follow the previous link. For a little more 'Black History' (which is in fact American History), check out our African American Calendar which gives interesting day-by-day facts about African American people, places and things, month-by-month.
But we digress...we're supposed to be focusing on community service and perpetuating the history of the Legendary Buffalo Soldiers, the reason for it all. Sure, we love to ride, but the opportunity to educate and serve is the reason why we joined this club in particular. Everywhere we ride, people come up to us and ask who we are and looking at our 'colors' want to know what we stand for: we're proud to share the legacy of the Legendary Buffalo Soldiers.
If you'd like to have us participate in functions occuring in your community, e-us...we're available 365 days of the year. We also perform speaking engagements for schools and other organizations seeking to learn about the Buffalo Soldiers. If we're not within riding range, we'll point you in the direction of a Buffalo Soldiers Motorcyle Club chapter that is.
In the meantime, learn all you can about The Soldiers...their history is awesome and should be learned and shared with everyone you come in contact with: your children, your family and friends, your neighbors, your educators. Talk about it at work, at church, in supermarket or theater lines...talk about our contributions 'once upon a time' in America. Because if we don't tell it, nobody will.
We'll be posting pictures of our community events as we get them...
